Ex 7:Marriott unveils European Courtyard prototype

This text is about the building of a new Courtyard by Marriott hotels in Europe.
It's a new stylish designed hotel made especially for business travellers, totally equipped to combine practicity and comfort during their business trip .
The aim of this new concept is that travellers feel like if they were working at home with all the commodities they need in a cordial environment.
I think it's a pleasant idea because a lot of businessmen or women who are far from their premises (homes) need to feel relaxed.
I'm not surprised at all that Marriott group created this concept because i work for them and it is generally the main target of the group that the customer feels at his place.

Ex 6 :Mobiles phones as hotel room keys

This article talks about using mobile phones as room keys in order to avoid queue at the front desk when customers arrive at check-in after a long and tired trip and don't wan't to wait any more!!!!!

I don't agree with this idea because nowadays everything is made more and more by electronic systems and we forget human contact.

Although you wait at the front desk, i don't believe it is so long as the text said and it will mean that the job receptionist would't exist any more and it would be a pity well!!!

My opinion is that by always want to innovate and save time, they forget the goal of their job which is before all the relational one......

Ex 5 : Middle east hotels retain pole position in 2005

This text explains the hotel market in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.It shows the growth of revenue per available room during the year. The pole position belongs to the hotels of the Middle East.

In fact, the growth of revpar in some countries is linked with the world's news because if bad events occured in a country it affects the tourism so nobody will go there and the rate will go down.It depends on what happened and where but usually a majority of people carry on their trip, some destination are targetted others not.

I think nowadays the hotel industry is becoming very attractive because new concepts and new countries are emerging so the competition is increasingly hard and the prices more attractive.
